SCULPTRA®
Long lasting filler for restoring volume and fullness to facial wrinkles
WHAT IS SCULPTRA?
Sculptra® is a facial injectable formulated from poly-L-lactic acid - a substance that is naturally and gradually absorbed by the body, as it stimulates the body to produce new collagen. With Sculptra, patients can expect to see subtle results over time - the reinforced collagen structure gradually restores fullness to shallow or deep facial wrinkles and folds. An average of three injection sessions over a few months can last up to two years.
Dr. Tse and the SkinCare Physicians & Surgeons team have had exceptional results using Sculptra. See the difference for yourself!

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?
With age, we lose muscle, fat and bone in our faces - often resulting in a sunken, aged and tired appearance. Sculptra restores this lost volume by replenishing the natural, subtle, sotfly-rounded contours of youth. Any healthy individual with no serious medical problems may be a good candidate for Sculptra. If you are pregnant or breast feeding you should not use Sculptra.
WHAT CAN SCULPTRA TREAT?
Sculptra is especially effective for treating shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds for a subtle, more youthful looking appearance.
WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE?
Sculptra is injected within the dermis to reinforce the collagen structure of the skin. No anesthesia is required, although if you are extremely sensitive, an anesthetic cream or an ice pack may be applied prior to your treatment. Discomfort is minimal and there is no downtime afterwards.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
You may expect to see a difference within a few days, although improvement can continue for up to 2 weeks.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
Results are gradual with Sculptra - an average of three injection sessions over a few months can last up to two years. Many patients find that having an additional treatment before the product has fully dissipated prolongs the results.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Most side effects are mild in nature, and are generally short in duration. Soreness, mild bruising and swelling are the most common side effects. At SkinCare Physicians & Surgeons, only highly experienced board-certified physicians and certified nurse practitioners administer Sculptra.
AESTHETIC INJECTABLES - HOW ARE THEY DIFFERENT?
- Botox and Dysport relax facial muscles - smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm®, and Sculptra® are used to restore lost volume and lift specific facial features - creating a youthful appearance.
- Other facial injectables such as Sculptra® are naturally and gradually absorbed by the body, stimulating the formation of new collagen. These fillers restore volume and fullnes and are especially effective for treating shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds.
