HOW DOES LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?
Using either the Q Switched YAG or the Alexandrite lasers, tattoos can be permanently removed. Since lasers are a single wavelength of light, the Q Switched YAG and Alexandrite lasers specifically target the tattoo ink in the skin, breaking it up into tiny particles. The body then naturally removes the pigment and the tattoo fades.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE?
The tattoo is usually numbed with either topical or local anesthesia and the skin is cooled during the treatment. Immediately after treatment, the skin is a bit red and swollen. This usually resolves within several days.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
Since the laser beam breaks up a portion of the tattoo ink at each treatment, multiple treatments are required. Newer tattoos, professional tattoos, and multicolored tattoos typically require a number of treatments. Black, amateur, and older tattoos usually respond faster to laser treatment.Treatments are usually recommended every 4 to 6 weeks.

WHEN WILL I NOTICE RESULTS?
Although more than one treatment is usually required for complete removal of the tattoo, immediate lightening of the tattoo will be visible even after only one treatment. With additional treatments, complete eradication of the tattoo is possible.

WILL THERE BE SCARRING?
Since the laser beam specifically targets the tattoo ink and spares the surrounding skin, Laser Tattoo Removal does not typically result in a permanent scar. There is a chance that the skin may be temporarily lighter in color after Laser Tattoo Removal. This usually resolves in several weeks.
