LASER TREATMENT FOR ACNE
Improve the appearance of your skin
HOW DOES LASER TREATMENT OF ACNE WORK?
The Smoothbeam™ laser can be an extremely effective for the treatment of acne. By specifically targeting overactive oil glands, the Smoothbeam laser treats one of the root causes of acne.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?
Any healthy individual with no serious medical conditions may be a good candidate. Patients who have persistent acne despite treatment with topical or oral medications, or those patients who prefer not to take oral antibiotics or Accutane may benefit from Smoothbeam laser treatment of acne.
WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE?
Your skin is numbed with a topical anesthetic, and your eyes are protected with special goggles. The laser treatment may feel like the snap of a rubber band.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
A series of 4 to 5 treatment sessions is usually recommended initially. Additional treatments for maintenance may be necessary.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
Temporary redness and mild swelling, which usually resolves in 1 to 2 days, may occur immediately after treatment.
CAN ACNE SCARS BE TREATED AS WELL?
Lasers can be very effective for improving the appearance of acne scars. The Vbeam Perfecta Laser can remove red acne scars. Deeper acne scars can be minimized with either the Fraxel re:pair® or Sciton Profile Laser.
