THE SKIN IS FASCINATING - it is the single largest organ of the body and is the most vulnerable to the ravages of time. In the average adult, the skin covers about 3,000 centimeters and weighs approximately 6 pounds - and is made up of 2 main layers called the epidermis and the dermis. The skin is self-repairing - cells on the surface of your skin shed steadily and are continuously replaced with new ones. Interestingly enough, a totally new epidermis is produced about every 30 days. If treated properly throughout the years, your skin will continue to look young and healthy as it ages.
